C & J’s Wedding
What a sweet wedding! Both the bride and grooms family came from all over to celebrate at the couples home in a small, beautiful ceremony. There is so much love and happiness in this family- it warmed my heart to spend the day with them. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. and many happy days ahead!

Viva Visual Las Vegas!
I am not a big gambler, AT ALL, but I am a sucker for bright lights, neon, and sights. Vegas is a visual buffet! Here are the top 5 places I had to SEE while visiting Sin City 1. Freemont Street Did you spend time on the strip and wonder where all the adorable wedding chapels were? I did. On Freemont Street, I enjoyed the sight of nostalgic neon signs with the sound of vintage gambling machines. I love the strip for all its hotels, but Freemont Street is where the photographer in me gets giddy just by looking up. I have more photographs of vintage signs than I can…

Iceland: 2 travelers, 5 days: $1984
Iceland was the very first international trip my travel partner and I embarked on and it’s also where we got engaged. 10/10- would travel to Iceland again and not just because I returned wearing ice of my own. Iceland, if you’re on a budget, is possible. Reasons we wanted to go: Iceland is beautiful! What is particularly wonderful about Iceland is that the landscape (the heart of why you go) is the best and least expensive if not totally free portion of the trip Iceland is safe Iceland is a great beginners traveling destination. We did a short 5 day trip. It was a perfect warm up for a lifetime…

Working with Design Riot & Crystal Mathis
I was so fortunate to work with local branding dynamite duo: Shannon and Tanya from Design Riot and health coach Crystal Mathis this weekend. If you are in need of branding power or wellness and need to connect with good people–check them out! Our team was so lucky to have such a welcoming host at a stunning home on the east side of Houston for the shoot and Crystal was beautiful inside and out! Crystal is competing in the open call for Sports Illustrated. She radiates body positivity and has arrived at this point through a longterm healthy plan. Working with her was inspiring and a ton of fun! This…

Beth & Matt
Beth and Matt were happily married when I met them and wanted to have a family celebration for those that missed the elopement…everyone! ๐ The casual and incredibly sweet gathering took place at their home in Houston with fun photos beforehand at the Flower Vault. I can honestly say it was one of the happiest (and best dressed!) weddings I’ve ever been to (and photographed)! Many happy years ahead for Beth & Matt!

She said YES!
Congratulations to Ashley and Nate. Love above all! What an honor to be their photographer for this important moment. Things I really enjoyed about this session: it was a surprise!, I managed to avoid using flash (the moment was preserved, but not altered), she said yes!

New Orleans: Stay, Eat, Drink, Do
Still working on this one, but there’s just SO MUCH to tell you about! New Orleans and surrounding Louisiana is pretty much where my now husband romanced me during our initial year of dating (he knew what he was doing!) and because of this, I am fairly certain itโs where I fell in love with him and his family. We still visit NOLA regularly and every time I experience something new and wonderful. I often see posts on several travel groups about where to stay, what to see, what to eat, etc., so I decided to compile a list of my favorites here for safekeeping and to sometimes share! You…

How to look your best in photos: The Jess Test!
In this arena I’m a little atypical as a photographer. I won’t outlaw your patterns or your funky footwear choices. I want you to be you. So, let’s do this! But first, about that snazzy dress… does it pass the three part Jess Test? Part One: Does it fit…like can you move in it? A simple, but honest question you must ask yourself. I know it’s easy to say “yep, sure does, it zipped!”, until you find yourself doing the worm throughout our session. Totally fine with dancing. Totally not okay with you being uncomfortable. Part Two: Is it clean? I’m sure it smells good, what I mean is, is it…
