The Jess Test

In this arena I’m a little atypical as a photographer. I won’t outlaw your patterns or your funky footwear choices. I want you to be you. So, let’s do this!  But first, about that snazzy dress… does it pass the three part Jess Test?

Part One: Does it fit…like can you move in it?

A simple, but honest question you must ask yourself. I know it’s easy to say “yep, sure does, it zipped!”, until you find yourself doing the worm throughout our session. Totally fine with dancing. Totally not okay with you being uncomfortable.

Part Two: Is it clean?

I’m sure it smells good, what I mean is, is it clean. Is it free of lint, fades,wrinkles, and stains that to the naked eye aren’t visible but somehow always manage appear in photos? Want to make sure? Dry clean. Treat yo’ self! Be fancy- you’ll even get a free hanger!

Part Three: Does it add to you and your photos?

A big logo, although I’m sure Under Armor appreciates the shout out, may not add to your special memories. Do you look great in yellow? No? A photo session will not change this. On the flip-side, do you have a pair of shoes that pop? Wear ’em! Wanna show off those gams? Skirt it is. Got a sweater that brings out those dreamy baby blues? I want to photograph you in it!
